DR. EDWARD STEPHENSON
FMU Psychology Research Lab Director

Dr. Stephenson is an Associate Professor in the Psychology department at FMU. Much of his research addresses the issues, concerns, and challenges of African American college students.  More specifically Dr.Stephenson's research examines the factors that influences student’s social, psychological, and academic adjustment including factors such as, the role of mentors, level of social and institutional support, mental health, risky sexual behavior, and substance use.

Queenisha Crichlow
FMU Psychology Research Lab Manager

Queenisha is a senior at Florida Memorial majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminal Justice. She is the President of FMU's Psychology Club and a trained peer educator for suicide prevention. She has previously interned for New York University's (NYU) Social Perception and Motivation research lab. Queenisha is interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology to further explore minority youth who suffer from disruptive behavioral disorders.

Trayvon Martin Foundation at FMU

The Trayvon Martin Foundation is a social justice organization committed to ending senseless gun violence, strengthening families through holistic support, S.T.E.A.M. education for women and minorities and mentoring.  

Health Inequities & Cultural Identities Research Lab at FIU

The Health Inequities and Cultural Identities (HICI) Lab is housed in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University. HICI Lab's research brings attention to the ways psychological and sociocultural factors affect health outcomes in diverse communities.
